Herrad is famous for a big book. She called it the Hortus deliciarum. This name means "The Garden of Delights." She wrote it for the women in her convent. The book was meant to teach them many things. It included science, poems, and hymns. The book had 336 beautiful pictures. These pictures showed many different ideas. Some showed history. Some showed scenes from her own life. She likely helped direct the art too. The original book was lost in a fire long ago. We know about it from copies made later. Her work still shows us how smart she was.
