He is famous for writing with intense feelings. Many people call him the "poet of love." His poems use symbols to explain deep ideas. He was a very important figure in Turkic literature. His writing helped the Azerbaijani language grow and reach new heights. People in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq still love his work today.

Fuzuli wrote in three different languages. These were Azerbaijani, Persian, and Arabic. He used these languages to connect different cultures together. He combined many different literary styles in his work. His poems often show a mix of human love and spiritual longing. He also used metaphors to make his meanings multi-layered. This made his poetry very special and lasting. He even wrote a seven-part work about musical instruments.

Muhammad bin Suleyman was born in 1483. His family was likely from the Bayat tribe. He grew up in a very educated home. His father was a mufti, which is an Islamic legal expert. As a young boy, Fuzuli studied many hard subjects. He learned mathematics, astronomy, and literature. He also studied different languages. These studies helped him become a great writer later in life.

Fuzuli lived through many changes in his land. His home in Iraq changed hands between different empires. These included the Aq Qoyunlu, the Safavid, and the Ottoman states. He wrote poems for leaders in all three empires. For example, he wrote a poem for Shah Alvand Mirza. He also wrote a poem for the Safavid leader Ismail I. Later, he wrote to Sultan Suleiman I of the Ottoman Empire.
