Bopp did something very special. He did not just look at words. He looked at how words change in a sentence. This is called grammar. He compared Sanskrit to other languages like Greek, Latin, and German. He wanted to find their common roots. He showed how these languages are related. This work helped start the study of comparative grammar. This is the study of how languages connect.

Bopp taught at the University of Berlin. He also wrote many books to help students. He even helped people read the Vedas, which are sacred texts. People around the world admired his skill. They also loved his kind and modest heart.
