It has a center part called a ball bearing. This part has tiny metal balls inside. These balls roll to help the toy spin smoothly. Most spinners are made of plastic or metal. They have two or more weighted lobes, or arms, that spin around the center.

These toys became very popular in 2017. Some people used them to help with stress. Others used them for autism or ADHD. ADHD is a condition that affects attention. However, studies did not prove they help with focus. In fact, some research showed they might cause more distractions.

Schools in many countries had to ban them. Teachers said the toys disrupted the classroom. There were also safety concerns. Small parts could be a choking hazard. Some spinners used button batteries. These batteries can be dangerous if swallowed. Adults should watch children when they play with them.
