Fatima bint Musa lived a long time ago. She was born around the year 790. Her father was Musa al-Kazim. He was a leader in the Twelver Shia faith. Fatima also had a brother named Ali al-Rida. He was also a leader in that faith.

In the year 816, Fatima went on a long trip. She wanted to visit her brother in a place called Merv. Sadly, she became sick during her journey. She died in a town called Qom. Some people say she was sick for seventeen days. Many followers of her faith think she was very holy. They call her al-Ma'suma. This title is for someone who is very pure.

People believe she could do miracles. They think she can help heal sick people. Because of this, many people take a special journey to Qom. They go to visit her shrine. This shrine is a very large and grand place. Many kings helped build it over many years. Today, the city of Qom is a big center for learning. People still visit the shrine to show respect.
