Francis Herbert Bradley was a famous thinker from England. He was born in 1846. He studied at Oxford University. He spent his life at Merton College. He did not have to teach there. This gave him time to write many books. His most famous book was called Appearance and Reality.

Bradley was part of a group called British idealists. These thinkers had many big ideas. He believed that everything is part of one big whole. He also thought about truth. He said facts help us learn. But he said no fact is perfect. We can always change what we think. He thought we find facts by using good reasoning.

Bradley also thought about how to be good. He asked why people should be moral. He did not like the idea of being alone. He thought being good is a social thing. We should try to grow our "good self." He thought religion could help us do this.

Many people respected him. He was the first British thinker to win the Order of Merit. Later, some people disagreed with his ideas. But many people still study his work today.
