You can find it on books, magazines, and music albums. It uses pictures, colors, or logos. This art helps sell a product. It also makes the item look beautiful.

Music fans see art on album covers. This art shows new trends in music and culture. In 1938, Alex Steinweiss became an art director for Columbia Records. He made special art for record covers. Some musicians make their own cover art. Joni Mitchell made art for her album Clouds. Other artists, like Roger Dean, are famous for their album art.

Book covers use images and text. They show the title and the author. Designers make the front, the spine, and the back. A cover might look different in different countries. This helps it fit the local people. Some covers are very famous. Francis Cugat made a famous cover for The Great Gatsby. It shows eyes and red lips in a dark sky.

Magazines also use cover art. In the 1900s, many magazines used drawings. In 1932, Vogue used its first photo cover. Famous artists like Salvador Dalí also made magazine covers.
