Some plants are used as medicine. Some flowers are very pretty in gardens. Other plants, like dodder, are parasites. A parasite is a plant that lives on another plant.

These plants have special flowers. The petals are fused together. This makes the flower look like a funnel. The flowers have five parts. They also have five sepals, which are small leaf-like parts at the base. Some plants in this group have special chemicals. These chemicals come from a link with fungi. This is called symbiosis. Symbiosis is when two living things live closely together to help each other.
