A farmer found the first bone in 1987. He thought he found old logs. Later, scientists found more bones in the hard rock. They used tools called pneumatic hammers to get them out. They found large bones from the back. These are called vertebrae.

This dinosaur was one of the largest land animals ever. It is hard to know its exact size. This is because the bones are not complete. Scientists use computer models to guess its weight and length. Some think it was very long. Others think it was very heavy. One estimate says it weighed about 70 to 100 tons. It moved at a slow pace. It used a gait called a pace. This means its legs moved in a special way.
