Allen Klein was a powerful man in the music business.

He was a businessman who helped musicians make more money. He was a very tough negotiator. This means he was very strong when making deals. He worked with many famous artists. These included Sam Cooke, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones.

Klein used special ways to help his clients. He often used buy/sell agreements. In these deals, a company Klein owned acted as a middleman. This company owned the music rights. It also made the records and sold them to labels. Then, it paid the artists. This way helped musicians get more cash. It also helped them pay less in taxes.

However, Klein also made a lot of money for himself. Sometimes he did this without his clients knowing. For the Rolling Stones, he held a large payment for many years. The Stones later had many legal fights with him. They said he did not pay them what he owed. He was also convicted of a crime regarding his taxes. He spent two months in jail in 1980. Even with these problems, he changed how the music world works.
