Most Angus cattle are solid black or red. They are naturally polled. This means they do not have horns. This makes them easier for people to handle.

People around the world raise these cattle. In the United States, they grew into two kinds. These are the American Angus and the Red Angus. In Canada, the first calf born outside Scotland was an Angus.

Farmers like them for many reasons. They have a lot of muscle. Their meat is prized for marbling. Marbling is when fat is spread through the meat. In Japan, people value this meat very much. Many other cow breeds come from the Angus. Some are made by mixing Angus with other cattle. This helps make new breeds for different farms.
