In North America, oak trees are very common in woodlands. Some woodlands need regular fire to stay healthy. These fires help many different types of life live there. In Australia, people use different names for these areas. They call a place with 10 to 30 percent tree cover a woodland. If there are less than 10 percent trees, they call it an open woodland.
