You do not need to install them on your computer. This makes them very easy to use on many devices. They can even work without an internet connection. These are called progressive web apps, or PWAs.

Most web apps use a three-tier system to work. The first part is the presentation tier. This is the web browser you see on your screen. The second part is the application tier. This part uses an engine to handle tasks. The third part is the storage tier. This is a database that holds all the data. When you click a button, the browser sends a request. The engine gets data from the database and sends it back.

To make work faster, they often use a web application framework. This is a set of tools that helps them build apps quickly. Using these tools lets them focus on their own unique ideas.
