The studio works in many different ways to make movies. It produces its own live-action and animated films. Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is the name for its animated works. The studio also manages filmmaking for other companies. This includes working with third-party producers. Sometimes, the studio joins with other big studios to make a film. For example, they worked with 20th Century Fox on a movie called *The Towering Inferno*. This partnership helped both companies make a lot of money. It showed how studios could work together on big projects.

The history of the studio began a long time ago. It started as the Warner Features Company in 1910. This happened in New Castle, Pennsylvania. The company was started by Sam Warner and his brothers. Their names were Harry, Albert, and Jack. They made their first film in 1912. This film was called *The Peril of the Plains*. Later, the brothers focused only on movies. They officially started Warner Bros. Pictures, Inc. on April 4, 1923.

Many important things happened as the studio grew. In 1927, they changed movies forever with a "talkie." This was a film with sound called *The Jazz Singer*. The movie starred an actor named Al Jolson. Later, the studio grew by buying other companies. In 1967, the studio was renamed Warner Bros.-Seven Arts. In 1969, the Kinney National Company bought the studio. This company later became Warner Communications. They even owned the video game company Atari, Inc. in 1976. The studio also grew by owning DC Comics. This allowed them to make movies about Batman and Superman.

You might recognize many things from this studio. Many famous characters come from their work. For example, they make movies about Wonder Woman and The Flash. They also helped start The WB television network in 1995. This network had shows like *Buffy the Vampire Slayer*. In 2006, they helped launch The CW network. You can also see their famous shield logo on many screens.
