In 1928, a leader named Atatürk changed the alphabet. It went from a Perso-Arabic script to a Latin script.

This change helped the language grow in new ways. A group called the TDK was made to help. They found old Turkic words to use again. They also made new words for new things. For example, they made a word for aeroplane.

Turkish has special rules. It uses vowel harmony. This means vowels in a word sound good together. It also uses agglutination. This is a way to build long words by adding parts. Turkish speakers live all over the world. Many live in Germany and other parts of Europe.
