Thomas was a strong supporter of Charles Darwin. People called him "Darwin's Bulldog" because he defended Darwin's ideas. He also created the word "agnosticism." This is a term about what humans can truly know. Thomas worked hard to improve science education in Britain. He held many important jobs at schools and science groups. He died in 1895 after a heart attack.
