Most swans have a special way of eating. They mostly eat plants that grow in the water. To find food, they might tip their bodies upside down in the water. This is called dabbling.

Their beaks have jagged edges that look like small teeth. These edges help them catch roots, stems, and leaves. They also eat small things like worms, frogs, and tiny fish.

Many swans follow a special rule for their families. They usually mate for life. This means they stay with one partner for a long time.
