Streetball is a fun way to play basketball.

It usually happens on outdoor courts. The rules are not as strict as professional games. This lets players show off their own special skills. It is a big part of city life in places like New York and Los Angeles. People use it to build community and express who they are.

Most games are played on a half court.

Teams often play three-on-three. There are no referees to watch the game. Instead, players must call their own fouls. A player shouts "Foul!" to stop the play. They might have a short talk about the call. Some games use a "check" system to start. An offensive player throws the ball to a defender. The defender throws it back to start the game.

There are many ways to play. One popular game is called 21.

In this game, players try to reach exactly 21 points. It is a hard game because you might face many defenders at once. Another game is called H-O-R-S-E. In H-O-R-S-E, one player makes a special shot. The other players must try to copy it. If they miss, they get a letter. Streetball is popular in many countries, including the Philippines and France.
