Eisenstein traveled to many different parts of the world. In 1930, he went to Hollywood with a contract from Paramount Pictures. He wanted to make a film about a man named Basil Zaharoff. However, the studio did not like his ideas. He also met famous people like Charlie Chaplin while in America. Later, he went to Mexico to make a film called *¡Que viva México!*. He wanted to capture the beauty of Mexican culture. He even called his films "moving frescoes" because they looked like paintings.

Making films in Mexico was a very hard job for him. He worked with a group called the Mexican Film Trust. He met famous artists like Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera there. Sadly, the group ran out of money to finish the project. Eisenstein had even borrowed 500 soldiers and many cannons from the Mexican Army. Because of money problems and rules in his home country, he had to leave. He eventually returned to Moscow to continue his life and work.
