A browser is a tool used to visit websites. Safari is the second most used browser in the world. It is built into many Apple devices. This includes Macs, iPhones, and iPads.

Apple first showed Safari in January 2003. Steve Jobs said it was made for speed. It was meant to be faster than other browsers. Safari uses a tool called WebKit. WebKit is an engine that helps show web pages.

Safari has changed a lot over the years. In 2010, Safari 5 added a reader mode. This mode lets you read web pages without ads. Safari 11 added a way to block web tracking. This uses artificial intelligence to keep users private. Safari also works with Apple Pay. This helps people pay for things online. Apple once made a version for Windows computers. They stopped making it because not many people used it.
