Lichtenstein had a very special way of painting. He used bold black outlines and flat colors. He also used Ben-Day dots in his work. These are tiny dots used in mechanical printing. He did not use a machine to make them. Instead, he carefully painted them by hand. This made his art look like it came from a printer. He wanted to explore how mass media shows us the world.
