Roohangiz Saminejad was a famous actress in Iran.

She became a star in a film called Lor Girl. This film was made in 1934. It was the first film made in the Persian language. It was also the first film with talking. This made her the first star in a talking film.

She was not a professional actress. Her husband worked for the film company. A man named Abdolhossein Sepenta found her. He needed someone with the right look for the role. Roohangiz had a strong Kermani accent. Because of this, the writers changed the script. They wanted it to match how she spoke. She made one more film called Shirin and Farhad.

Life was not always easy for her. Being an actress was hard in her culture. Some people treated her poorly for her job. She also faced trouble from men in public. These things led her to change her name. She lived a quiet life away from others. Even so, she remains a key part of film history.
