He is best known for designing buildings that use geometric shapes. These shapes include many straight lines and clear patterns. Meier has a very special way of using the color white. This color makes his structures look bright and clean. Many people find his work to be very original and vigorous. He even makes other kinds of art like drawings and collages.

Designing a building involves many careful steps and ideas. Meier often looks at the work of older architects for help. He was inspired by a man named Le Corbusier. Meier expanded on ideas used in buildings like the Villa Savoye. He also studied the styles of Mies Van der Rohe and Frank Lloyd Wright. To make his art, he uses shapes and light. He also creates collages by sticking different pieces together. His firm, MeierPartners, now works on projects all over the world.

These were very hard claims for people to hear. Meier said he would take a leave from his work. In 2021, he resigned from his firm permanently. His school, Cornell University, also decided to review his past donations. This shows how important it is for everyone to act with respect. His life and work remain a big part of modern design history.
