Scientists use a rule called reproducibility. This rule helps them find the truth. It means that if someone does a test, others should get the same results.

In the 1600s, a chemist named Robert Boyle helped start this idea. He used a big air pump. This tool was very hard to build back then. Boyle believed that repeating tests makes facts sure. He thought facts must be proven by many people.

One scientist named Huygens saw water float in a glass jar. This was a strange sight! At first, other scientists could not see this happen. They could not make it work in their own pumps. Later, Huygens went to England. He showed others how to do it. Once they could repeat it, they believed him.

Today, researchers try to be very clear. They share their data and their steps. This is part of open science. It helps others check their work. Some fields, like economics, find this hard to do. In medicine, it is very important to get things right. Sharing work makes science much stronger for everyone.
