The symbol for Dzogchen is a Tibetan letter "A" inside a thigle. The letter "A" stands for kadag. The thigle stands for lhun grub. These are two parts of a larger wisdom. The third part is called thugs rje, which means compassion.

People say this light body can appear in different ways. Some people might see rainbows and lights around a person. If the practice is not finished before death, the body may shrink. It might vanish into light as the person dies. Often, hair and nails are left behind. Some very special people reach a higher state. They do not leave hair or nails behind. They do not even die to reach it. This is called the Rainbow Body of Great Transference. This state allows a person to exist anywhere through compassion.
