Johannes Gutenberg changed printing in Europe around 1450. He made a new system using a printing press.

Gutenberg used a special mix of metals. This mix included lead, tin, antimony, copper, and bismuth. His metal pieces were very sturdy and uniform. This made the Gutenberg Bible very high quality in 1455. He worked with partners like Andreas Dritzehen and Andreas Heilmann.

Printing technology keeps getting faster and better. In 1843, Richard M. Hoe invented the steam-powered rotary press.
