He is the main character in the novel The Adventures of Pinocchio. This book was written by an Italian author named Carlo Collodi. This allows him to move all by himself. He has a big dream to become a real boy.

Pinocchio has many special features that people recognize. His most famous trait is his nose. The nose grows much longer when he tells a lie. In the original book, it also grows when he feels stress. His nose can even grow while he is being carved. The Blue Fairy uses her power to help him sometimes. In one part of the book, she sends woodpeckers to fix his nose.
