Matter is what things are made of. Energy is the power that makes things happen. Physicists look at how these things interact. They study everything from tiny particles to the whole universe.

There are two main types of physicists. Experimental physicists do tests to see how nature works. They build tools to watch things happen.

Some physicists also use their skills to make new technology.

Many people have studied physics for a long time. Ancient people in Greece and China studied the stars. In the 1600s, scientists like Isaac Newton found laws of motion. Today, physicists work in many places. They work in schools, labs, and private companies. Some even work in finance or computer science. The highest honor for a physicist is the Nobel Prize in Physics.
