These falcons live almost everywhere on Earth. They live from the cold Arctic to the warm tropics. They can even live in big cities. In cities, they use tall buildings to make nests. They often eat pigeons and ducks. A black patch under their eyes is called a malar stripe. This stripe helps them see better by reducing glare from the sun. In the past, these birds were in danger. This was because of a chemical called DDT. Since people stopped using DDT, the birds have come back. Now, many people help protect their nesting places.
