You can find peninsulas on every continent. The Arabian Peninsula in Asia is the largest one.

Many things can make a peninsula. A volcano can make one if it erupts near water. Melting ice can also make them. A river can make one too. This happens when a river drops dirt into the sea. We call this a delta peninsula.

Water levels can change over time. High water can make a peninsula look small. It can even turn a peninsula into an island. Dry weather can make it look much larger.

People have used peninsulas for a long time. They can be good places for hunting. They let people reach both land and sea animals. Peninsulas also help with trade. They give people easy access to the water. The Malay Peninsula helped with trade between the east and the west.
