He was born in Germany. Later, he moved to London to work.

In the beginning, Reuter used birds to move news. He used homing pigeons to carry messages. These birds flew faster than the post trains. This helped him get news from Paris very quickly.

Soon, a new tool called the telegraph was made. This tool sends electrical signals through long wires. Reuter used these wires to send news even faster. He even set up a wire link in Ireland. He found a clever way to get news from ships. Ships from the U.S. threw cans into the sea. Reuter's team found the cans. They sent the news by wire to London. This was much faster than waiting for ships to arrive.

Reuter started a news agency. This group of people shares news with the world. It is called Reuters. His work helped people stay informed.
