AFP is a news agency in France. It shares news from all over the world. It is very old. It started in 1835 as Havas. This makes it the oldest news agency in the world. In 1944, it became Agence France-Presse. This happened after the Liberation of Paris.

AFP has a huge team. It has 2,400 workers from 100 different lands. These workers live in 260 cities. They work in 150 countries. They use many tools to tell stories. They use text, photos, and video. They even make graphics. These are pictures that explain facts. They call this part AFP Graphics. They make about 70 of these every day.

AFP works hard to be fair. They check facts to make sure they are true. They share news in six languages. These are French, English, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and German. Most of their money comes from selling news to others. The French government also gives them money. This helps them do their job for everyone.
