Different groups follow different lists. Some follow ten perfections. One is generosity. This means giving to others. Another is virtue. This means acting in a good way. Others include wisdom and patience. Some also include being honest and kind.

In Mahāyāna Buddhism, people often list six perfections. These include giving and ethical discipline. They also include patience and effort. Finally, they include meditation and wisdom.

One perfection is giving, called Dāna-pāramitā. A person can give material goods. They can also give fearlessness. They might even give teachings. Another is patience, called Kṣānti-pāramitā. This helps a person endure hard times. It also helps them accept truths about the world. These qualities help people grow and find peace.
