This way is called the Noble Eightfold Path. The name means the path of noble people. It has eight steps. Each step starts with the word "right." These steps help people find peace. This peace is called nirvana.

One step is right view. This helps people understand how the world works. It teaches that our actions have results. Another step is right resolve. This means having good thoughts. It helps people be kind and not violent.

Other steps guide how we act. Right speech means we do not lie. Right conduct means we do not hurt others. Right livelihood means we choose good jobs. For example, we should not trade in weapons.

Some steps help the mind. Right effort helps us keep good thoughts. Right mindfulness means we watch our minds closely. Finally, right samadhi is a way to focus the mind through meditation.
