These are often called the Four Noble Truths. They show how things really are. Some people call them the truths of the noble one.

The first truth is called dukkha. This is often called suffering. It means that life can be painful or not at ease. This happens because nothing lasts forever. The second truth is the cause of this pain. It is called samudaya. This happens because of craving. It is a strong desire or longing for things.

The third truth is called nirodha. It says we can end this pain. We do this by letting go of our cravings. This brings a state called nirvana. In nirvana, the cycle of rebirth ends.

The fourth truth is the way to reach this peace. It is called marga. This is the Noble Eightfold Path. It is a set of steps to follow. People use it to practice mindfulness and meditation. These truths help people understand how to find true freedom.
