Osogbo is very famous for its beautiful art. Some people call it "Ilu Aro," which means "Home of Tie and Dye." This is because of the traditional way they make colorful fabric. They use different methods like starch or wax to make patterns. This is called Adire.

Many small businesses also make things like pencils and foam. The government helped make the city an industrial center in the 1970s. There is even a special school for art here.

There is a very old story about how the city began. Long ago, a ruler named Olarooye lived in a place called Ipole Omu. The land became too dry for farming and animals. Olarooye sent a chief hunter named Timehin to find new land. Timehin and his hunters discovered the River Osun.

Nature plays a big part in the life of the city. Every year, people hold the Osun-Osogbo festival by the river. This festival happens at a sacred grove. This special place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
