More than 10 million guests come every year. People also visit to see the Niagara Escarpment. This is a special place called a Biosphere Reserve.

Farming is very important here. Many farms grow fruit along the shore of Lake Ontario. People also grow grapes in large vineyards. These grapes make wine. Some wineries make a sweet drink called ice wine. They make it by pressing grapes outside in the cold winter.

History is found in many towns. The town of Niagara-on-the-Lake was once the capital of a new colony. You can visit Fort George there. It is a fort built by the British. The area also has many sites from old battles. Many different groups of people have lived here over time. This includes the Neutral First Nations people and many immigrants from Europe.
