Mr. Children is a famous pop rock band from Japan.

They are one of the most successful rock artists in their country. The group has sold over 75 million records to fans. They are known for making many hits that people love. The band has four members: Kazutoshi Sakurai, Kenichi Tahara, Keisuke Nakagawa, and Hideya Suzuki. Sakurai is the lead singer and writes most of their music.

Making music is a big job that takes a lot of work. Most of the songs are written by Sakurai. Sometimes, the drummer Hideya Suzuki writes songs like "Asia" or "#2601." The band also works with a producer named Takeshi Kobayashi. They create many different things to share with fans. These include studio albums, singles, and even home videos. They also make live albums from their big concerts.

Before they were famous, the band had a hard time. In 1988, a group called The Walls ended. The members formed Mr. Children in early 1989. They chose this name during a dinner talk. They liked the word "children" but added "Mr." because they were adults. At first, record labels did not want their music. The band took a three-month break in 1991. During this time, members worked regular jobs to earn money.

Everything changed when they signed with a label called Toy's Factory. Their first album, Everything, came out on May 10, 1992. Soon, they became huge stars in Japan. Their single "Cross Road" sold over one million copies. In 1994, their song "Innocent World" won a Japan Record Award. That same year, their album Atomic Heart became a massive hit. They even held the record for the highest first-week sales for a single for 15 years.

Mr. Children loves to connect with their fans through live shows. In 2015, they were very successful at performing for crowds. They held 36 concerts that year in Japan. About 1,119,000 people went to see them play. This made them number one for concert power in 2015. Their music stays important to people even many years later. They continue to release albums that reach the top of the charts.
