It is found in the Eastern Alps. This cave works like a drain for the land. The Lurbach River flows into one side. Then, the Schmelz River flows out of the other side.

People have used this area for a long time. Experts found a reindeer bone near the cave. It is about 52,000 years old.

Exploring the cave can be hard. In 1894, seven people got trapped by a flash flood. They were stuck for ten days. Many workers and divers helped save them.

One part of the cave is very big. It is called the Bear Grotto. This is because people found cave bear bones there. It is one of the largest underground rooms in Europe.

Storms can cause floods in the cave. A big storm in 1975 washed away many paths. Because it floods every year, the paths were not fixed. Now, you can visit two different parts of the cave. You can take guided tours at each end.
