This journey was a very big part of his life. He traveled with Abram and Sarai to the hills of Bethel.

As time passed, Lot and Abram had to live apart. Their herdsmen began to argue over land and animals. Abram let Lot choose where to settle first. Lot saw the plains of the Jordan were very green. These plains looked like the gardens of the Lord.

Because of this, Lot moved near the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. He lived among the cities in the plain.

Lot's life included many hard and sudden events. Some kings from the east once attacked the cities in the plain. They took Lot away as a captive from Sodom. However, Abram led 318 trained men to rescue him. Abram brought Lot and all his people back home.

Later, angels came to warn Lot about the destruction of Sodom. They told him to flee to the hills. They warned his family not to look back at the city.

During the escape, something very strange happened to Lot's wife. She looked back at the burning cities behind her. Because of this, she became a pillar of salt.
