Sometimes, the written way is very different from the spoken way. This is called diglossia. This means people use two versions of one language. They use one for friends and another for formal things.

In Arabic, people use Modern Standard Arabic for writing. It is based on Classical Arabic. Many speakers switch between these two styles. They might even switch in one sentence!

In English, the King James Bible and works by Shakespeare are famous examples. These books helped shape how we use words today. In Bengali, there are two forms. One is for everyday talk. The other is a literary form called Shadhubhasha. It uses many more special words. Even the national anthem of India was first written this way. Each language has its own special way to be formal.
