She was born Marie Frances Van Schaack on June 3, 1917, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her career made her a household name during the 1940s and 1950s. People recognized her as a high-class and elegant performer. She was often mentioned alongside other stars like Gypsy Rose Lee. Her stage name came from the child-saint Saint Quiricus. She used this name when she performed in Las Vegas.

Lili was known for creating very creative and memorable stage acts.

She used many props like bathtubs, mirrors, and hat racks. One famous show was called "The Flying G." In this act, a stagehand used a fishing line to pull her clothing into the balcony. She also performed acts with names like "The Wolf Woman" and "Jungle Goddess." She would dress up as many different characters. These included Cleopatra, Cinderella, and even a matador.

Her work took her to many different places and cities.

In Montreal, she was a very famous woman at the Gayety Theatre. Some people in the city did not like her shows. They thought her dancing was improper. This led to her being arrested and charged with indecent behavior. However, she was acquitted, which means the court found her not guilty. She later wrote a book about her life in French. In it, she said she loved the city of Montreal.

Lili also had a career in movies and photography.

She appeared in the 1953 film Son of Sinbad. She also had roles in movies like Josette of New Orleans. A famous photographer named Bruno Bernard called her his "muse." A muse is a person who inspires an artist. She was also very popular for her pin-up photography. Later in life, she ran a business selling lingerie. She designed many items for stage use and personal wear.

Lili's influence can still be seen in culture today. She was married six times during her life. She lived in a modest Hollywood apartment with her cats. She passed away in Los Angeles on January 29, 1999. Many people still talk about her because of her unique style. Her name is even mentioned in famous musical songs. One song from the musical Pal Joey asks about her. Another song in The Rocky Horror Show ends with a blessing for her.
