society Maturity 11-13 Next article →

Poland has laws to help people live together. These rules have grown for over 1,000 years. The most important rule is the Constitution. The Polish parliament makes new laws. It has two parts called the Sejm and the Senat.

Laws cover many areas of life. There are laws for families and for work. There are laws for driving cars and for taxes. There are even laws for water and for mining.

Laws also help people run businesses. In Poland, there are many ways to do this. Some people work by themselves. They are called sole proprietors. Others work in groups called companies. Some groups are called cooperatives. These are groups of people working together. Many people in Poland use a type called a limited liability company. This is a very popular way to do business.

New laws are printed in special books. Judges and police help make sure people follow the rules. These rules keep the country running in an orderly way.
