This article covers sensitive topics: politics. Parents can manage visibility in Parental Controls.

A justice ministry is a part of a government. Its job is to run the justice system. This group helps keep order in a country.

A leader runs this group. They are often called a minister of justice. In the United States, the leader is the attorney general. Some countries have a secretary of justice instead.

These groups have many big jobs. They can organize the legal system. They might watch over the police. Some also manage investigative groups, like the FBI. Other ministries help with elections. They may also help with immigration and citizenship.

Not every country uses a justice ministry. Monaco uses a group called the Directorate of Judicial Services. Vatican City does not have one either. Instead, it has a legal office. In some places, the prison system is its own group. It might be called Corrective Services. Some nations also keep the people who prosecute crimes in a separate office.
