This style uses unique rhythms and guitar sounds. The band members include guitarists James "Munky" Shaffer and Brian "Head" Welch. Jonathan Davis provides the vocals, and Ray Luzier plays the drums. They have sold more than 40 million records all over the world. This is a very large number of fans for any musical group.

Learning to make music together is a big job. In the early days, members James Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and David Silveria were in a band called L.A.P.D. They eventually joined with Brian Welch and Jonathan Davis to form Korn. They even made a demo tape called Neidermayer's Mind in 1993. They gave these tapes away for free to record companies and people. This helped them show their new sound to the world. They used a special logo with a backwards "R" for their name.

Korn's history shows how hard work leads to success. Their first album, called Korn, came out in 1994. It was followed by Life Is Peachy in 1996. Both of these albums helped make them famous. They even won a Grammy Award nomination for the song "Shoots and Ladders." Later, their albums Follow the Leader and Issues both reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

There are many interesting facts about the band's journey. They have earned two Grammy Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards. Their music videos, like "Got the Life," were very popular on MTV. In fact, those videos were among the first to be "retired" from the show. This happened because they were played so many times.
