Singer Rob Halford uses an operatic vocal style. This means he sings with great skill and a wide range of notes. They also became famous for their visual style. They often wear leather and metal spikes on stage. This look became very popular during the glam metal era of the 1980s.

The band's history began with a few different groups in the late 1960s. The name Judas Priest actually came from a Bob Dylan song.

Early members included Al Atkins and Brian Stapenhill. The band struggled with money and poor recording quality for many years. In the mid-1970s, members even had to eat only one meal a day. They worked very hard to keep going despite these hard times.

Success finally arrived in 1980 with their album titled British Steel.

This record brought them huge mainstream attention. Since then, they have won many big awards. In 2006, they were honored at the VH1 Rock Honors. They won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2010. In 2022, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Today, Judas Priest remains a major part of music history. You might even hear their songs in video games like Guitar Hero.

Their influence can be heard in many modern rock bands. Even though members have changed over the decades, their impact stays strong. They showed the world how heavy metal could sound and look. Their journey from Birmingham to global stardom is truly amazing.
