Tsongkhapa spent a lot of time in quiet meditation. During these times, he had visions of Mañjuśrī. Mañjuśrī is a figure who gives special teachings. Through these visions, Tsongkhapa gained deep insight. He learned about a concept called emptiness. This idea means that things exist in a connected way. It does not mean that nothing exists. Instead, it means things depend on each other.

Tsongkhapa wrote many important books. His most famous work is the Great Exposition of the Stages of the Path. He also helped start a new group called the Gelug school.
