She is one of the most successful athletes in the history of this sport. Werth has competed in seven different Olympic Games. These include the 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, 2016, 2020, and 2024 Games. Success in dressage requires a strong bond between the person and the animal. Werth has worked with many different horses to reach the top. One of her most famous partners was a gelding named Gigolo. She rode Gigolo from 1986 until 2001 with her coach. Together, they won many championships between 1992 and 2000. Later, she rode a horse named Satchmo at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She also won gold and silver medals in Rio with a mare named Weihegold OLD. Each horse helped her show her great skill in the arena.

Her long career has faced some difficult moments and rules. In 2009, a substance called fluphenazine was found in her horse Whisper. The FEI, which is the international group for horse sports, suspended her for six months. Werth said the medicine was used to treat equine shivers. She wanted to keep the horse's handlers safe. In 2013, she faced another suspension after her horse El Santo tested positive for cimetidine. In 2022, she was eliminated from a competition in Aachen because blood appeared on her horse. These events were hard parts of her journey in professional sports.

Werth has won many titles outside of the Olympic Games too. She has earned many awards in the World Championships and European Championships. She has also won many World Cups. For example, she won the 2007 World Cup in Las Vegas with Warum Nicht FRH. Her records show many high scores in different years. In 2017, she earned a very high score of 90.704% with Weihegold OLD. These numbers show how much talent she and her horses have. She continues to compete at the highest levels even today.

People who love horses can even experience her world through technology. In 2007, a computer game called "Isabell Werth – Reitsport" was released. The game was made by a company called Dancing Dots. It is a simulation where you can practice riding. You can try 3-day eventing, show jumping, and cross-country riding. In the game, Isabell acts as an on-screen trainer. She gives advice on how to handle and train horses. While the original game is out of print, a version called "Ride! Equestrian Simulation" exists now. It lets fans feel a little bit of the excitement of riding.
