This is the largest stadium in Italy. Inter shares this huge home with their rivals, AC Milan. Their big matches against each other are called the Derby della Madonnina. This rivalry is one of the most famous in the whole world.

Building the club started with a big idea about teamwork.

In 1908, a group of players left the Milan Foot-Ball and Cricket Club. They wanted to create a new team that could accept foreign players. This wish is why they chose the name Internazionale. The club won its very first championship in 1910. Later, the team had to change its name for political reasons. For a few years, they were known as Società Sportiva Ambrosiana. They even wore white jerseys with a red cross during that time. Eventually, they returned to their famous black-and-blue colors.

Many legendary players have made their mark at the club.

Giuseppe Meazza was one of the greatest stars in Inter history. He scored 284 goals for the team. He even holds a record for scoring 38 goals in one season. The San Siro stadium is officially named after him. Another great player was Sandro Mazzola. He played for 17 seasons and was part of a very famous era. In the 1950s, players like Benito Lorenzi and István Nyers helped the team win titles. These players brought skill and excitement to the fans in Milan.

In the 1960s, the club became a true European powerhouse.

A coach named Helenio Herrera led the team. People called him "the Wizard" because of his great skill. He used a special way to play called the "Verrou." This system used a fifth defender called a sweeper or libero. The sweeper helped the other defenders stop the other team. This helped the team win the European Cup in 1964 and 1965. This successful group of players was known as "La Grande Inter." They even won the Intercontinental Cup to become world champions.

Inter has a long history of winning many important trophies.

They have won 20 Italian league titles so far. The club also has nine Coppa Italia trophies and eight Supercoppa Italiana trophies. In 2010, they achieved something very rare called a treble. This means they won the league, the Italian Cup, and the Champions League all in one year. Inter is the only Italian club to win a trophy in every decade since 1908. Today, the club is owned by an American company called Oaktree Capital Management. They continue to be a huge part of football history.
