She was special because she could perform very difficult moves. Her scores were some of the highest in the world. People loved watching her because she was so talented. She earned many gold medals during her career.

To become a champion, He Kexin had to work very hard. She started her training in 1997 at the Shichahai Sports School in Beijing. She practiced her moves every day to get better. In 2007, a head coach named Huang Yubin saw her win at the Intercity Games. He invited her to join the Chinese National Team. This was a huge step in her journey. She then began to travel to many different countries to compete.

Her career reached a high point at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. She helped the Chinese team win a gold medal. She also won a gold medal for herself on the uneven bars.

It was a very close race against an athlete named Nastia Liukin. They both had the same final score of 16.725. He Kexin won because of special tiebreaker rules. She continued to win at the 2009 World Championships in London too.

There was some confusion about her age during the 2008 Olympics. Some news reports said she was 13 or 14 years old. Other papers showed a different birth year of 1994. This was a big deal because gymnasts must be a certain age to compete.

However, an official investigation looked into the matter. They found that her paperwork was just mixed up during a move between teams. The investigation concluded she was old enough to compete.

He Kexin is a very important name in gymnastics history. She is one of only five Chinese female gymnasts to make two Olympic teams. She also won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. This made her the only Chinese woman to medal in the same event at two Olympics in a row. Her high difficulty scores set a standard for other gymnasts. She showed the world what hard work and skill can achieve.
